Vocal Coaching
“Susannah is an incredible vocal teacher, she taught me life long skills which I now use on a weekly basis as a part time singer. She is a caring, kind and knowledgeable teacher that I would recommend to anyone looking to study singing.”
Sam, Launceston.
“Susannah gave me such great tools to understand and harness my voice - like I’d always dreamt. Such an encouraging and soulful teacher. I always felt supported with her and it gave me confidence knowing SHE believed I could (hit that note, try different styles). The best parts of the lessons were singing together WITH her, having fun and making a true friend for life.”
Kaz, Launceston.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Each lesson goes for one hour.
The first 30mins are dedicated to technical exercises based on an initial vocal assessment. The vocal assessment is part of your initial lesson. We identify your existing vocal range (lowest comfortable note to your highest) and move through a series of questions around your music background, repertoire interests and vocal health.
The last 30mins allow us to move through the song list of 5-10 songs you have brought along and we can work out areas of focus for your practise.

Not at all!
All are welcome. Basic literacy is a requirement so that we can find visual ways to support your learning.
I generally use a mix of music notation (which I explain as we sing along together) and lyrics, as well as some other graphic notation for those that respond best to it.

Each lesson costs $100 and is payable on the lesson day or upfront upon time of booking.

I have a very calm, gentle approach. Over 20years I have cultivated a relaxed teaching style that makes you feel comfortable so that we can start the work of discovering your voice and supporting your music goals. You will never be scolded for not practising. You will never be made to feel bad for not knowing how to do things. My approach is to instill joy and curiosity in each lesson. I will be your biggest cheerleader and will sing with you at all times until you feel comfortable singing alone.
