Upcoming Workshops
Words First: Lyric writing workshop for beginner/intermediate songwriters
Small group | 10am–12pm | Oct 10th or 11th
Launceston
In person + online attendance available
An intimate, practical songwriting workshop designed for beginners and intermediate songwriters.
Susannah will share the creative techniques, exercises and resources that have informed her own songwriting practice over the years.
The workshop will explore both individual and collaborative approaches to lyric writing, with opportunities to experiment, generate new ideas and develop your own songwriting voice. Together, we’ll also look closely at examples from published songs, considering what makes particular lyrics effective and how professional songwriters use language, structure, imagery, rhythm and storytelling.
You’ll be introduced to a range of songwriting resources, creative prompts and practical tools that you can continue to use in your own practice.
This is a relaxed, supportive small-group setting, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and write. You don't need to consider yourself an experienced songwriter — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
Morning tea, coffee and refreshments provided.
When: 10am–12pm
Where: Launceston, Tasmania
Address: Shared upon booking
